Disconnecting sunroof motor

this is the sunshade motor but the connector is the same.
how do I get this connector out?
So I did the washer trick a long time ago and now the sunroof is finally reaching it's end of life, or rather it would need major repairs. still opens and closes but towards the end of closing starts to make a horrible noise. So before it's completely toast I'm going to disconnect the motor.
Only problem is I can't figure out how to unplug the connector. Can someone guide me on the trick to getting the connector out? Picture shown is of the sunshade motor connector but the connector is identical for the sunroof.

I found a very good photo of the connector on eBay with an ad for a motor. I noticed some people are selling gears. I wonder would that fix it?

when I put the crank in the motor I had about a half to one turn left to go to get the thing down tight. Good thing I disconnected the motor now.
