Hatch open error constant

Even more irritating is that when your benz doesn't see all the doors closed it
doesn't give you the 3 light blink to tell you the doors are locked, so
you have to look closely to make sure.
I was going to title this thread, 'parts you never think you'll need'.
So, removing the latch is easy, some plastic plugs and pop the little
carpet trim piece, then 2 bolts and pull the cable to remove from the
latch handle if you have the key in the latch,
So I expected to find a micro switch that needed a small tweak
but instead found it is a sealed unit.
One small 3 wire connector attaches, with 1 wire for ground, one
for +12 to the solenoid to open the latch, and 1 wire for the switch, which is
inside the latch.
Well as luck would have it the unit is sealed. No just tweaking the switch
One way to fix it would be to permanently short the switch wire, to
simulate the door being closed. And this would be what I'd be doing
because I mean who want to spend $185 on parts.com for this part?
There are some used ones I see like this .
Well again, as luck would have it I just happened to have a spare one of these,
from when I replaced the whole hatch, saved all old bits.
Plug it in, and viola problem solved.
Moral of the story, not matter how unlikely it seems you'll ever
need an old part, well save it.
