My coupe is in the shop (since Wednesday) right now for that very reason.

The symptom; hot air was being blown through the defrost and floor vents, cold air was coming out of the dash and rear vents, the directional control knob did nothing and it didn't seem to make a difference if the module was set to Auto, Rec, EC or off. The only control that worked was the fan speed.

Reason; The 'technician' that last worked on my car removed the center console to test the fiber loop and "pinched a wire" which baked the control module. They had to order a new module and wire harness....they also busted one of the little catch levers on the center vents, so they have to replace that assembly too. So I'm driving their underpowered, anemic sound system loaner C240 4matic slushbox til at least Tuesday next week.

Yeah, I'm pissed.....same service center screwed up my E class by forgetting to tighten a tensioner bolt on the AC compressor last summer....the thing fried in October.

They made good on it, but they fired the SA and 'technician' that up to that point had treated me very well.

This may sound funny but i just picked it up from a service last week......i sure hope i was not as lucky as you to have the service tech cause the problem....Calling for an appt on monday...i sure hope it is a quick fix, but i have the same systoms as you nothing but hot air.
