I was snooping around in the rt rear quarter panel on my coupe, looking for the speaker wires for the subwoofer, and came across these connectors. One is an optical, which I guess is for the comand system, but the other looks like a parallel port connector. Plus I still can't find the speaker wires for the sub. Can someone with a factory sub describe where it is in relation to that access door, and what the color coding is on the wires. A picture would be a big help if someone can post one. I want to put a self powered sub in the back, but I really want to use the factory wiring if possible.

If I remember correctly those are for the TELE-AID system and COMMAND.

Those are "Some" of the connections for the optional Telephone system. That large one is a DB25 connector that plugs into the Phone PSE (Phone Support Electronics) module. That smaller cable is a fiber optic connection that may be used for the phone system as well. What does the label on the Fiber Optic connector say ? This will tell you what it is meant for.

You will also probably find a DB15 cable and some Coax cables in the same area, also meant for the optional k2/k2a phone system.

coax is in there, but no DB15 that I can find. Still can't find the speaker wires either. I assume the wiring harness is the same in all the cars since it has all the stuff for the phone and comand even though it doen't have either of those options. I will check the tags and see what they have on them.

speedfrk, I posted photos in my photo album of the subwoofer and related wiring. Here's the link:

Also, do a search in this forum for "subwoofer". I posted some pics on a few threads.
