We very much liked our 2002 C230K, but wanted something with four doors and a bit more height for easier entry and exit. We sold it to somebody we know who had admired it. After having a very handy hatchback for so many years, we did not want to go back to a car with a trunk. We also did not want something slow and certainly not anything with front wheel drive. We decided on a BMW 340ixGT. It is a four door hatchback, slightly higher, and with a long wheelbase for a spacious rear seat. The engine produces about the same power per cylinder as the C230K does, but it has two more cylinders, a nice eight speed transmission, and four wheel drive. Better yet, we found a loaded 2017 dealer car with just 5,000 miles on it, and colors we like, at a large discount.

We like it very much, although the interior has two very obvious flaws:
1) The sun visors do not slide. This is almost a serious enough safety defect, as Sun glare could cause the driver to wreck, that they should recall them. I bought Visormates, but that is a very hokey solution quite out of place on such an expensive car.
2) There is no good place to keep cell phones, as they wasted space installing a silly hand lever parking brake.
