Can anyone describe the new color Diamond Black offered on the 05 c-classes?

Well, would it be a replacement for Obsidian Black, which was a metallic black? Its pretty easy to guess that its a metallic, but what kind of hues/sparke will it have? There's many variations of metallic black. Guess I'll just have to wait for a color chip.

You know newbie, and this is no flame, but how does one describe a color to a blind person. Think about this and then look at your question again. Being sighted doesn't matter in this context.

the SLR 50th aniv. at the NY Auto Show was Diamond Black....had a flaked magenta, blue-green and desert silver spark to the finish....but you couldn't really tell until you were right next to the car (yeah, I was the guy that got up close an personal on the carosel to get a pic)

heheh...I also got them to open up the Mars red 05 C320 coupe they had.

If I am not mistaken, Diamond Black looks black from a distance, if you look at it up close or under direct sunlight, you can see the Blue particles in the paint. MB has so many different colors now, it hard to tell which is which. I was at the dealership yesterday and I saw a couple of new colors, there was this one color called "Lolith Blue" that looks VERY nice, I think it is for W209s. Kind of look like Pewter, but instead of Gold-ish, it looks Blue-ish.

I'm guessing that black would be the only color not needing a description. Diamond black would be the usual after a solid jab. Oddly, the exercise has some compelling, wierd merit. One would have to coorelate color to another sense....citron green feels like.....alabaster white smells like, etc.

After seeing an 05 C230 sedan in Diamond Black in direct sunlight, I wasn't able to differentiate it from basic black. Even up close.
