Replaced Intake manifold, now crank but no start

I read about 20 forums and no luck yet. I pulled my intake manifold in my C230 2007 to fix the broken lever in front. The car still ran very well even with it broken, but I laid it up for the winter so I thought Id repair it. Pulled it. Repaired it. VROOM! started right up. I then cleared all the codes off it, drove it around the block several times and all was well. 5 hours later I came out to move it and it started then stalled. Now it wont start. Cranks fine but wont start. Here is the kicker, in my trial and error, I hooked my fuel pressure gauge to it and had about 55psi on crank. I put a little fuel down the throttle body, still crank no start..... UNTIL i opened the value on my gauge relieving the pressure from the fuel rail, then the thing started right up. As soon as I closed the value on my gauge and it built up pressure in the rail it died. I have no new codes except P0300.

It just doesnt make sense it starts with a little fuel in the throttle body ONLY IF there is no pressure in the fuel rail. (and dies shortly after it burns the gas off I poured down the throttle body

In my mind it has to be something stupid simple. Im about ready to rip off the intake manifold again and do it all over again.... but thought Id ask you experts.. I will appreciate any feedback. If there is an older thread that has my answer please foward it too me.

Because it starts with no pressure I dont think its any sensor, and its not fuel pressure as thats good 50 on position 2 and 55-60 on crank.

Thanks

Could it be something as stupid as bad gas?

Thankfully, you did a good amount of testing and diagnosing. Plus, you know how to write.

Sounds to me like a leaky injector.
Things to try before you yank the intake:
A) Look at the plugs. Do any look wet?

B) Try the following:
Disconnect the power connectors to all of the injectors.
Does that allow the car to start if you put gas in the throttle body? If an injector is always stuck open, it might not.
But, there may also be a leaky/poor-sealing injector.

Good Luck.

Good points you've raised rodneypierce. I will double check the harness, plug ins and anything else that might have been disrupted by the intake manifold replacement.
I'll let you know if I find anything. Im just surprised that the ECU is not throwing any codes at all.
