Chicago area people

I recently had the dealer replace my antenna amp (and rear glass but for a different reason) in my 2001 C320 Sport Sedan because my radio reception was horrible. Anyway, I now get pretty good reception except for 96.3, is this a known problem and if so can it be resolved?

Thanks,
Bill

I got the same issue at that freq. Every C or CLK I tested on the lot and/or showroom had the very same issue as mine. Still trying to find out whats up. Thanx for the update on the antenna amp issue.

P.S.
I'm not from Chicago nor do I drive in or around it.

So, being generous, many cars have this problem and the dealers do not know how to correct it? Is this limited to a specific year (I have an '01) so a swap for a newer head unit could fix it or is it more widespread?

C320 - Sport
My reception is fine...

I'm in the area and I've never had a problem with 96.3 that I noticed. I also have an '01 C320 Sport. Which dealer do you go to?

Mine is MY03 and so where the cars I tested. I also tested some MY04s. I deduced at that time it had to do with the transmitter (overloading the HU's front end). Now reading yours I'm not so sure.

Well, when I was at the dealer to have my wheels installed he checked it out and noticed the problem (Claimed it was minor). He didn't know how it could be fixed because we had already replaced the antenna and amp. He's going to call around and see if anyone else has some input.

I'll be listening to B96 when I get into the car next time. I'll let you know how my reception is.

Ok, I just went out to the dry cleaners and tried your suggestion.

Back to B96 it is for me. I don't think I can listen to the same stuff my Dad does.

C320 Wagon
No problem in far western burbs

I have a C320 Wagon, so the antenna in the rear window is a little different, but I doubt whether that's significant.

I HAVE THE SAME DAM PROBLEM!! I have an 04 c230K sedan.

They replaced the radio, amps, and back window(has atenna in it)

None of that worked. The only thing that fixed it was installing an audio10 head unit.

The head unit must have a defect!

Did the dealer provide the Audio10 or did you purchase it?

Thanks
