single fin grill!!!
this says it fits c230s but I've been seeing posts that they don't make single fins that fit c230s? anyone know? don't wanna spend 200$ for nothing

That appears to be the one I have on my car.
I think the price has gone up. My wife gave me it as a gift in January. I think it cost around $139 with free shipping. It fits fine on my 2005 C230.

1. You need to replace the lever that moves the hood latch. Just look carefully and take some photos when you remove the OEM latch and put the replacement on the same way.
2. You will be reusing the fasteners from the OEM grille except for the two that are at the bottom of the grille on both sides. The seller includes two screws to use in those locations, but the screws that came with mine were too small. Unless he has changed the size of the screws he includes in the kit, you may need to make a trip to the hardware store.
Enjoy your new grille.

It seems like a good trade-off between the all chrome grills and the all "black maw" grills. Imho, either of these can be too over-powering the look of the front-end.
Personally, I like the color-matched front grills. Then again, *I* know that one of the main drivers for the black-maw or chrome grills is cost.
Yea, buy an $75K+ vehicle, but have the ^*&*(^(&* manufacture care about saving money on the cost of the front grill. Sigh...

The look I was seeking to emulate was from the classic Mercedes Roadsters. (Yes I realize that the C230 isn't a roadster, but it is a sports sedan so I'm taking the liberty of emphasizing the sports aspect of the car.)
Of course emulating falls short of duplicating. The grilles from an earlier era most likely required several hours of skilled craftsmanship to produce. Chromed plastic isn't the same product.
I know that new cars are safer and perform better on the road, but we may have lost a bit of the soul that went into earlier cars.
The first picture below is a '65 Olds 442, in mint condition, that is currently on sale for ~$55K. :-O
