i found a well priced Alpine CHM-S665RF M-Bus/ FM Modulated 6 Disc CD Changer for my basic factory bose system. How would i know if the changer would work properly? is it best to talk to the service department at m.b.

You can hook up that changer using the RF modulator. The steering wheel buttons won't work and you will have to operate it using a remote control.
