Talking Speedo pics

Just came over some cool pics....

Looks to me that the digital tacho is not perfectly syncronized with the analogue dito on this car. (It's a C200 Kompressor by the way )

I think this image was scanned from Auto Motor und Sport's test of the C320. Kinda fast, don't you think?

I also noticed that the font on the gauges is different than on the U.S. (Canadian, too?) versions of the C230.

Yeah, it would be bye-bye to my licence as well How does this label differ?

(Note: This is not me driving. This is some german guy driving on autobahn in a speed that probably is perfectly legal)

I think U.S and Canadian versions of the Gauges are same. Their's is little bit diffrent then ours. The turning signal arrows on ours is close to the digital display. They have theirs on the top corners.

The pics shows the guages of a sedan. I believe the fonts are different in the sedan and the coupé.

well, since it's not your car and you state that your steering column (and the rest of the interior) is dust free, i'll put you back on the ok list

Don't think its dust, but dandruff (look at the flakes)! Needs Head & Shoulders shampoo more than a California Duster! LOL.

Just kidding, of course.

Whats a california duster? can i get one too?? haha
I heard that because the stock tires for the coupe are R rated, its unsafe to go over 130mph or it may cause a blowout. anybody got info on this?

I will be doing a TOP speed run this summer and post a pic.
I'm sure it will be similar to the other pics but probably will top out at around 208Kph (~130Mph). Some of the Highways here are very STRAIGHT for a LONG time..... its like an endless straight road and not much traffic so its very easy to do Top Speed runs here.

If anyone is from Alberta..... I am talking about Highway #1 from Calgary to Medicine Hat or vice versa. This is the most BORING road ever.

oh... i got clocked at doing 180Kph (~112 Mph) many many years ago.... Mandatory Court appearance. Paid a $220.00 fine and that was it. Kept my license though. Lost 4 points for excess speeds and dangerous driving.

The Speedo will show higher at least on NA vehicles because of requirements that the actual speed can never be higher than the displayed speed. DOT requires this in America. No such requirements exist for onboard computers. The computers therefore tend to be more accurate regarding mileage, fuel consumption, and speed.

The tires are called R due to their radial construction. On the non-sport/evolution models, the tires' speed rating is H (good for sustained speeds up to 210 km/h (130 MPH). Hence the speed limiter is supposed to kick in at or before that speed. The better tires (evo) are Z rated, which can more than handle the cars' top speed of 149 MPH (C 230 K), but the speed limiter in North America remains.

I think if I look around I can find a pic I took while doing a blast down the 5fwy. I thinkthe speedo says 148 or somthing. I hit my speed limiter @155 but couldnt take the pic of that. Too scary to take my eyes off the road.

My car just won't go anymore as soon as i hit 135...

How in the world did you get to 148 or 155....
Now i want to do that

if you did do an ecu remap... where did you do it...

thanks
