Connectors
Thanks for the replies.
The person who removed the lights from the damaged car at the recycling yard cut the wires on one of the lights instead of simply disconnecting them. The connectors are shown here:
The connector on the left is the same as the one in my car and must provide power and the signals to turn on the low beam, high beam, parking lights and turn signals. I assume that the brown wire is the ground. The connector on the right (close up below is the connector for the self-leveling and movement of the shade on the xenon bulb. If I could obtain a second connector and determine the wiring diagram, I may be able to determine how to operate the shade on the xenon bulb. For example, if I tapped into the high beam signal in the other connector it might work to move the high beam shade. I obviously need to do more research before risking damage to my lights or the electrical system.

When I have some time I’ll use the process shown in the video to diagnose my lights.

For some unexplained reason the shutter on the xenon bulb is now opening when I turn on the high beams. The only change I made was to replace a defective bulb in the left tail light. (The tail light fault message was displayed on the instrument cluster.)
I’m happy, but this makes no sense unless the shutters were binding and driving back and forth to work a couple of days loosened them.
