Those pieces are strictly cosmetic. They're held in place by clips (attached to the rubber seal that surrounds the glass and panel) and can be popped off with great difficulty. No special instructions. Just reef on them, away from the car.
The really nasty thing is that it is difficult to remove them without bending/warping them. Typically these go in during window installation. Considering they're also rusted out, they're honestly not worth saving.
Best to pop by a body shop and have a new one ordered and painted to match your colour. Good luck.
