C230 central locking failure

C230 central locking failure
i have an 04 C230. The central door lock switch on the dash has stopped working as well as the key fob lock.
when I attempt locking with the key fob, the lights flash so I know the car is receiving a signal from the fob. Does anyone know where the main module is that operated the locking system? I have a parts car but not really sure where to start. Tried searching but evidently this is not a common issue.
