Engine opinions
2005 C230. 90,000 miles. Well maintained, oil changes more frequently than the flex service system recommends. Got a bit of cold start rattle. Pulled the valve cover, rotated the engine by hand and checked chain tension every 1/4 turn. Chain is tight and all marks line up accordingly. I did this after the car sat overnight. I’m assuming the chain is good and something else is causing the noise. Opinions? See pics

Before you start the car when it is cold, open up the hood, and get your cell phone ready to record at it's best resolution.
Start car, start recording.
Go to different areas where you can hear the sound, and stay at each area for 4-10 seconds.
Then, do a _slow_ sweep across the front of the engine (take ~4-10 seconds).
Upload to youtube.
Maybe someone, or myself, will recognize the noise.
It could be many things.
If it's a bad idler_pulley or belt tensioner pulley, if/when it breaks, the flying belt can cause a good amount $$$ of secondary damage.
