Cel what next?
hi everyone, I’m new to this forum.
i have a 2003 w203 C200 with check engine light. First garage repaired exhaust and fitted new pre cat O2 sensor. day later. Only code thrown is fuel trim p 0171. Took car to independent merc. Garage who confirmed my fears of oil in wiring harness and wanted £1700 to fix.
my car runs perfect with no loss of power or reduction in mpg. I have now changed both cam magnet sensors and cleaned out connectors at Ecu. There was very very small oil residue at one end of biggest ecu connector. I flushed with electrical cleaner until all ran clear. Though to be honest there was so little oil stain there I think it is not affecting ecu.
anyway, cel came back on 1day later, same code.
my question is this, what should I do next? Check, clean and replace mass air meter! Or replace rear post cat O2sensor?
what do you experts think?
