Saw The HIDs in Action...
On a new beetle install and on edvpt's white C7 coupe. The stage 1 look very nice and I pretty much watched his new beetle install from start to finish. The light quality is very nice and the stage 1 color is identical to my ML factory HIDs.
Sorry about the demo of my leather and panoramic roof...I hope I didn't drive you into a quick vehicle trade-in.

are the lights yellowish at all? mine start very very white but gradually turn pale yellowish. i was told b/c of a 20-100 hour burn in period (it's in the manual)... they're getting better though and are no longer as yellow as they were in the beginning.
also, you mean edvpt doesn't have the panoramic roof?

Yes, his start white on both cars and turn a bit more yellow. The beetle lights are elipsoid, so they stayed much more white overall. I had the beetle follow me for a bit, very nice light coloring.

edvpt is very tall and wasn't sure he would fit with cloth and the roof...I think the leather seats with the C1 package may sit lower than standard cloth, as he cleared with nowhere near headroom problems in mine...I had someone 6'8" in the car today that fit fine and was very complimentary of the headroom and comfort.

but, i didn't get stage 2 for 2 reasons: i don't think they work as well in inclement weather and they don't provide as much light as stage 1s (by 1/3 i read). but not too sure about that number...
once mine are burned-in, and they look more like what they do when i turn them on, i'll be very happy

ah, it seems the meet has been pushed to the following week! mini meet in philly! whoo hoo! last time, it was just tommy and me. maybe we can upgrade the meet place from the burger king parking lot?
actually, i've been meaning to goto manhatten to see the WTC memorial and Prada. how about lunch there?

here's a pic of the PIAA Super plasma (?) and the HID together
