I currently have a 2005 c-230 sedan on order, and I went the other day to the dealer and noticed that the interior rear-view mirror has a hole for some kind of ambient light to shine down at night. Can someone who has an '05 please confirm this. Does it look good at night? Thanks, Jason.

Jason-
Yes, the light does produce ambient light in the car, both day and night. I have not found a way to turn it off through the system settings yet. The light looks good but is really not noticeable unless you put your hand under the rear view, it produces a faint orange light on the area infront of the shifter.
Enjoy your '05, I love mine!

My VW had the same style lights underneath that lit the area below. I heard it for looking at things like parking stubs or something that don't require you to turn on the interior lights. I liked them. The gave a nice look to the center console.
