HID or Halogen lights on my car stock?
2005 C230 sedan w/auto transmission. I don't have the car with me right now but I'm trying to find out if there's a way to know if it has the HID lights or regular halogen lights? What's a quick way to know?

Ok so it looks like the HID have a projector looking lamp. That's what mine look like. My lenses are flaking plastic! Can I replace just the plastic outer lens piece? I see these for sale on Ebay but wasn't sure you could just replace them. If not, what are options to restore these things. Mine are so bad it's like they are snakes shedding skin.

The polishing products work well, don’t require removing the lights from the car (which will involve removing the bumper) and cost less. Replacing the lenses provides better results - the lights will look new. I replaced my halogen lights with HIDs. I initially tried polishing, but since I needed to drop the bumper anyway I ultimately decided to replace the covers.
