DIGITAL CLIMATE

Citron,

I wish I had written down the part number!!! I'll check my records and see If I can dig it out.

In short, I initially went to the dealership and bought the digital climatronic. (I think it was the one that ended with "209" - I may be mistaken). The long and the short of it was that it did not work.

So I returned it to the dealer and contacted the Europimp Steve and he sent me one that worked for my 2003 C240! (As I said, I'll check on the part number issue).

Martin-

OK - I found out the part number -

-203 820 05 85: was the first version of Climatronic. I did not order it based upon Steve's experience that it did not work in a US C240.

-203 820 09 85: was the next version of Climatronic. This IS the one that worked for me. I ordered it through Steve (refurbished but in very good condition).

-203 820 02 85: the "last" version (at least as of one year ago). Before I had decided to order the "09 85" version through Steve, I bought the "02 85" version through the dealer. Obviously, it did not work. It only blew hot air and only through certain vents. Returned it to the dealership.

Hope this helps.

Did you buy an MB yesterday after the big party? They now show the C's for over 5K off, that's a C230 sedan for about $23K ($20K for a coupe) with our coupon,
I can't believe their selling the cars that cheap! How do you get that price?

this is the one i bought and had the same part number on it. it only blew hot air. i was told it was the last one on the shelf. not sure how true that is. anyhow 09 85 is the only one i ever bought. have tried the eiarlier or later version.

That's the incentive this month, about $6K off (more or less depending on how loaded it is). Add to that the C-Spot coupon for an additional 1.5K off. That makes the base 2004 sedan, which is $30K about $23K. The one I would want, auto, sunroof, and metalic paint is about $33.5k, so that would come out to $26K, not to bad when you factory in $2k in free maintenance and free car washes for life. The tougher choice for me wether to get the C240 wagon instead, it's $36.5K or about $29K after discounts. I would like the C320 wagon for an additional 4K but that's pushing it for what I want to pay for a car.

Carl,
The C320 wagon, with borduex red, lowered, with AMG sway bars and C32 front brakes, and bi-xenons would be a cool car.

A lowered wagon, tinted windows with the right wheels would be cool. Mark Cummin's E wagon looks great. It's just the $7K cost difference.
