mini cooper test drive
fyi, just drove a mini cooper here in SF. The bmw dealer has a bunch of them, but no cooper S for a while (huge backorder on those too).
the little ~110 HP motor is no match for my c230k... the car feels surprsingly big and tall inside, no problem fitting in for me (6'2")... great car for in the city, plenty of torque.
highway is another matter.... the go-kart ride becomes a detriment and the vehicle feels really shifty and unstable. loud too. can't say it's a good car for anyone planning on driving on the highway.
at ~$16,500 base it's a good deal, but here in sf you ahve to buy a $3k "accessory" package which is essentially a markup, which makes the price pretty high relatively speaking.
this car is ford focus and civic competition. cant touch the c230k.

heheh, we got to test drive the cooper S and it is very very nice! 
handles great but even the cooper S could use a little more power. but it is also like $5000 cheaper than an C230k so i wouldn't compare these 2 cars.
on it's own, it is a sweet little car and i'd buy it if i had a 5 car garage. right after the new SL55
