+1 c230, I miss the w203 w211 look too. All the new cars now have that bulging top line that overhangs the side of the car. Ugly IMHO. I'd have a newer MB if the new ones didn't have that bulge. Buy apparently the majority of people like that line/look...

Seems to me everyone is trying to look like everyone else.
W204 looked like a damn Accord.
205 is better, but as pointed out here...
W203 and W211 seem to be one of the few that didn't get copied line for line, don't look anything like the
Honda's or BMW's of the same era, very stylish, and ahead of it's time, and lots of features for the money.
Inherited a Ford Escort that belonged to my Dad...1999 model. Best part of the car is the AC.
W203 came out Fall 2000 (2001 model) and is like a spaceship compared to that piece of crap.
So far ahead. Granted the Escort was 15K new (can't believe they even got that for it! Soo basic! ) so MB is twice the price, and 4x the car.
That being said, the Escort keeps me mobile when the C230 needs (frequent) maintenance and parts,
gets 30 mpg+ , is horribly uncomfortable, but I use it for running errands, 4 door is easy to load in and out.
Around town my C230 gets like 12 mpg, but does great on the highway 25mpg
so I drive Gerty around town (that's her name, she's not an attractive girl, but
gets the job done). and the C230 on longer trips.
Sister doesn't want to sheitcan the Escort it has sentimental value...ha!
