Smog Sensor???
I had my car in for service last week and one of the problems was the heater wasn't blowing hot air. The dealer said they had to replace the smog sensor (they ordered the part).
2 questions:
What is the Smog sensor and what does it do.
If it has to do with emissions (as the name implies) why does it affect the heat?

Only thing I can think of is the fact that when you first start the car you HVAC will automatically be switched to recirculation for about 30 seconds (which I think is dealer settable thru the DAS) without turning on the telltale little light. I can see an interface to the smog sensor here which due to all the electronic interfaces can cause weird things to happen.
