2001 C240 Rain Sensor Issues
Hi all, thanks in advance!
2001 C240, original issue was that the wipers while in position 1 (auto) would simply run at the same speed as the low manual setting in position 2 (slow continuous), even if there was no rain at all. On some rare occasions it would work, but there was no reproducible way to get it working, and after restarting the vehicle it would invariably not work again.
I ordered a new rain sensor (part # 2108205710) and while it was shipping found a video on youtube that showed a workaround for disabling the sensor - defaulting to the intermittent setting for position 1 (way better than the previous full on or full off options), so I followed those instructions and disconnected the sensor.
New sensor came in the mail today, and I installed it. However, in position 1 (auto) now nothing happens at all, no matter how much water I pour/splash on the windshield. I thought it was a faulty sensor, so I reinstalled my original sensor to see what would happen, and lo and behold, nothing happens with that sensor either!
Am I missing something here? Is there some kind of reset that I need to do to get this working? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
