removing flaps in m272
Hey,
I got a question - is there any one who had removed all flaps which can fall off and damage the engine?
Im asking because I can see in internet that some guys are selling intake manifolds with removed flaps and after that You got to connect your car to Star Diagnosis and remove them by a data.
In BMW many guys are also removing those crappy flaps but I wonder if you guys (which have done it) feel any acceleration loose without these flaps?

Agreed. If you have the 2.5L M272, it will actually hurt low end fairly significantly. When my intake manifold swirl flap lever broke and the flaps were stuck open, I noticed a significant decrease in bottom end. I would get a new or refurbished manifold before resorting to removing the flaps and trying to hack STAR to not throw codes for missing swirl flaps.
