2002 C230 Coupe(M111)
Unless you need 4 doors, get the Coupe. Its much cheaper, better looking by far, has the awesome panorama roof, and you can get the V6 for less than the cost of the base 230 sedan. Believe me when I say that the shape of the Coupe does grow on you.

I like the 1.8, but its no 2.3M111 like the SLK and 2002 Coupes had. Get the V6, with the stick. With the new interior, and the nicechanges in the suspension, and the exterior changes, its hard for me not to think about getting one

whatever you decide it'll be a nice car.
I personally don't like the coupe and no matter how long I've seen it I still wouldn't buy it... and trust me I thought about the C320 Coupe instead of my C230 Sedan, but nah... that's not me...

thats true, its not only whether you require 4 doors or not, but personal taste. if you dont care for the coupe then obviously get the sedan if you like them both, weigh you requirements.

I liked my coupe for the 3 years I had it, no regrets. The main reason I got the sedan was the 5 passenger seating, helps me out when I need to pic up my kid at the movie theater and she has 3 friends with her and of course the 2 extra doors help out then when I'm dropping each one off at a different location. Surprisingly, the specs on the coupe show a 1/2" more rear legroom (in my 2002 brochure) and the rear seat is reasonably comfortable but it only seats 2 back there, the windows don't roll down and there's no armrest or cupholders. I'm impressed with the 1.8L motor though, considerably smoother than the 2.3L in the coupe.

I'm probably going to lean towards the sedan as I like the idea of having the two extra doors when driving friends/family around...kind of like your reasoning.

As for the auto/manual, i'm still deciding. Have to test drive the manny and then the auto to get a feel for them...

Never liked the looks of the coupe. First time I saw it I thought I was looking at a Pontiac Sunbird.

PONTIAC SUNFIRE! dude, drop the crack bowl. maybe it's just me but i dont see it. i never cared for the rear end, but the new taillights fixed that. as far as features go, yeah headrest that go down in the rear and a sunshade are neato!! i prefer my 2 door, lemon yellow/green pontiac sunfire look a like to a sedan i guess. maybe im just wierd.

The coupe abuse was really hot when it came out, you would think that by now people would get over it. One person was banned from this forum for constantly picking fights with coupe owners over the looks. I didn't switch to the sedan from the coupe because I didn't like the look, it was time for a change and I can use the 5 passenger seating and 2 extra doors. I think the coupe is a great car that doesn't resemble any previous cars. Kudos to MB for not copying other people's styling.

i remember the banning of members over coupe styling. the threads would get pretty heated over which was better. personally i dont see a sunfire look alike at all. just dont. thats just me though. timmyboy would get into it (remember the oil change new engine story) and there were a few others. i know you didnt switch to the sedan for the look. i like the 05's alot and the only thing thats stopping me, which may just be me, is that the 05's are not in citron. i like citron way to much to be just another oridinary color on the road.

good thing i wasnt here when people where fighting over the coupe

Citron is a neat color!

Did they get rid of it all together?

I am waiting till the end of the factory warranty till my next car. Thats what my parents told me about the firebird tahoe mazda and they all where gone in under 6 months but i do like my current car and want to have it for some time

yeah citron is gone. some say good, i say farewell. im keeping my coupe because i wouldnt have mine anyother color. its not a favorite, and thats a fact from lack of sales, but one thing that is a fact, it is rare. and that i like even more.

You can special order any color you want. Combine that with 7% off euro delivery. A 2005 Citron with bi-xenons, Comand, 320 engine and new 6 speed would be cool.

My 1969 MB 300 SEL 6.3 was custom ordered in sand beige (gold) body and tobacco brown top, for euro delivery. The original owner must have had major bucks. You could have gotten 3 Cadillacs for that, two Vettes, 4 Mustang CobraJets for that much money.

could you still get citron if they dont produce them anymore. ive read that you can get pretty much any MB color if your willing to pay for it. what about colors which are no longer in production, such as citron and amythist?
