Hood replacement
I didn’t find anything by search so I’m hoping someone has the answer I have to replace the hood on my 2003 c240. I have removed 2 screws holding the rear on hood grill that covers the windshield washers. I think there is still one in the middle on top but it’s covered and before I pop it off I want to be sure that is the screw cover and not a sensor of some kind. Anyone? Thanks

If you’re trying to remove the hood grille, and that is what you’re asking about here goes...
There are three screws accessible under the hood. One on each wing and a central one. There is no cover, you maybe looking at and thinking the solar sensor, or more likely dummy blank dome (on top side) is hiding hardware- it’s not.
But, removing the grille from the hood is a PITA. and, I hate to tell you this, but most likely you will break the/some plastic clips.
Look down from above, in the corners and around the perimeter - you will see the little square pockets that say, “push me forward and down to release me...” but...they’re thin wall plastic above engine heat and under sun rays...they break.
I’ve been told having a helper helps.
Search “Solar Multifunction Pollution sensor retrofit, mod, etc.”
