What Color would you recommend??
hi all, i'm a newbie here and i will be ordering a 2005 c230k sedan within next week. I read most of the threads for the past couple days. I would like to thank all of you for posting many useful information on this car.
one question that needs to be answered is, what COLOR should I get?
I can't decide, and i keep changing my mind between; black, silver, and orion blue. I definetly want the black interior and I think all these colors will go well with black leather. but I really can't decide.
What color do you recommend and why?
thanks in advance.

I am pretty much in the same situation. Just that my choice is either white or black. I pretty much want white myself but everyone around me keeps telling me to black.
I guess it's hard to recommend a color as it's really a personal preference. What other people recommend may not really be the one you like. It's your car so it's better to choose it yourself, right?

Granite Grey, All the way
It looks grey in the shade, with a hint of blue in the sunlight. If I had to describe the color, I'd call it "Dolphin Grey". Very nice. I love it. It also is pretty rare right now. So far in ATL I've seen only one other Granite Grey C.
Black is very nice (and cheaper if you go with the flat black), but tough to keep clean. With the Granite Grey I'm not constantly having to wash my car to keep it looking decent.
Silver is nice, but was way too commonplace for me. Whatever color you choose, make sure you get a look at it in person, on a C Class, in both light and dark. I didn't like the way Granite Grey looked on the E, but love it on my C.
Lastly -- Of the 10 or so cars I've owned, from silver Porsches, to Forest Green BMWs, my Granit Grey C is the only car that I've received compliments on the color alone.

final contenders
ok thank you all for comments and suggestions.
Now i'm down to two choices. Black or Diamond Black.
I was just outside on my lunch break and saw a black '05 C230 sports sedan. my jaw dropped the whole time while i was outside. so i would definetly go with black. but i don't think it wouldn't hurt to have some sparkles in black paint.
I've never seen Diamond Black Benz. does anyone have a picture of their Diamond Black MB? any model is fine. i searched the whole forum but couldnt' find this picture. if so, please post it up.
once i confirm between either one, i'm ordering mine tomorrow
!!!
thanks all

I've had black for 3 years, it's the best looking color but it comes at a steep price. Unless you are fanatical about how you wash your car the car will look like spiderwebs in bright sunlight, every little imperfection will stand out, any door ding or stone chip will look twice as big. This time around I got the pewter, it's a sharp looking color but doesn't have the shine that black has.
Don't get black unless you are committed to maintaining it, otherwise you will learn to hate it quickly, specially on an MB where the paint swirls very easily.

i agree black looks good, but is the hardest to keep clean, and swirl marks are a pain in the @$$. ive had one black car and will never own another. plus black is almost as common as silver.

Anything but black - unless you wash/wax personally
Had a black coupe and I am moving on to mars red. Black looked nice when clean, but swirls and any (and I mean any) dust immediately made the car look a lot more dirty than it really was.
Personally I would never get a black car again. I take great care of my cars but could not get that one to look like it for more than a few hours.
Part of my problem could be my area, I am in the Northeast so winter is a big problem with salt and inability to hand wash for at least three months of the year.
Good luck with the choice and I am sure you'll enjoy the ride no matter what color you get.

just remember....black shows every flaw and speck of bird/bug/dirt....but if ya gotta go black, diamond black is worth every penny
