COMAND Alpine Testmode showing w164 in my w203. PLEASE post image of YOUR Mute+OK+7
I am curious if you can please help me if you have COMAND in your 2005+ w203?
Recently (It's been this way since my Takata recall airbag replacement in October...) my sound is "off" (not I have no sound...but it sounds of less quality/off) and tinny/hollow...yet seems high in pitch/tone. There is no "power" if you will and it is very "AM" radio-ish...if that makes any sense.
Logic7 is not much/at all "different" than Speech.
My VCM output sound is barely audible, as well as my phone to me/car volume. I am told recipients can hear me fine.
I can not adjust the volume with COMAND or the NEW steering wheel buttons to turn it up.
Admittedly, I don't drive much. When I do, I rarely/barely use the radio, and even less...the phone.
Upon opening the Alpine Testmode - I now see that the "Car Type" and HU are set to w164. Admittedly, the last time I was poking around in Testmode was 2016 when installing VCM. I can not locate an image, but I recall the setting being w203. I certainly would have noticed and remember if it was set to w164...
So...If you have COMAND MCSII MCS2 in your 2005+ face lifted w203...can you PLEASE snap and share some images of your HU and Car Type available to you in Alpine Testmode by pressing and holding MUTE+OK+7?
A quick Google and searching HERE(w203), the ///AMG and Audio and Electronics showed very limited results...but...shocking, w203 settings in w203 cars...
Thank you so much!
MY MOST RING...

The process was well executed and upon restart and test drive all audio had been reset.
In Alpine TestMode it still shows w164. Admittedly their thought is that the latest NAV disc I have prompted that change. They did not have the newest NAV disc - and we knew not to install an older disc.
Upon the software updates I gained ETA when using navigation, a nice upgrade!
