Vibration on Clutch Pedal

I just noticed this morning that the Clutch pedal vibrates if slightly depressed - like something is rotating on the other end of the pedal! I have not felt these kind of vibrations in any other manny car.

The gears shifts smoothly. So I don't think of it as a major problem but would like to know if this is common on C230?

It could be your Throw Out Bearing on the tranny that's bad. It happens on some new car's. You should get it checked out by your dealer.. How many Miles is on your car??

you know what?

Something IS rotating on the other end of the pedal! To be specific, the pressure plate is rotating, where it contacts the throw-out bearing, and so the throw-out bearing is spinning at high speed.

By all means have the dealer check it out.

I assume that the C 230 K has a mechanical clutch linkage? Because one should not feel the sensation of movement if the clutch control is hydraulic - unless the movement/pulsation is extreme I guess, in which case you have a major clutch problem.

I had a Nissan Sentra SE-R that did this from day one. I talked to the dealer about it once or twice when it was new, but they never did fix it. I decided I was going to pitch a major b*tch right before the warranty ran out (and hopefully get a new clutch at the same time) but I never got around to it, by then it seemed normal! It never got any worse over the 80,000 miles i drove the car.

Sure, have the dealer look at it soon, but I wouldn't be all that concerned at this point. I'd save the repair until it was going in for something else too (like scheduled maintanence)

Yep, sound like a throw out bearing. Does it make noise like an old skateboard wheel when either pushed or not pushed? Thats a sure sign of a TO bearing!

Well, it is not that bad. I just feel the light to very light vibration on the foot. No noise or anything.

Mine does this too. I checked it today while driving on the interstate. Just lightly rested my foot on the clutch pedal, and felt a slight vibration from the clutch assembly turning. I think this is normal.

That does seem odd, given that the car must have a hydraulic clutch system (not many modern cars use a mechanical system any more).

My guess would be that you are just feeling vibrations from the engine/trans assembly. Most 4 bangers tend to vibrate.

Having the dealer checking it is a smart idea. Even if it turns out to be nothing, at least you'll have peace of mind.
