Question Are you awaiting delivery?

I've been reading this Board for awhile and was wondering how many of you (like me) are waiting for delivery of your C-Class vehicle?

Let us know what you have on order and when it is due. Thanks!

Mine is also on order from Ray Catena. So far, the experience has been pleasant. I'm working with Craig Harris. June seems far away.

mine is on order from sand diego mercedes benz. i ordered it at the end of march, and was told it would be here near the end of may. then i called to make sure the front license plate wasn't going to be installed, and craig (salesman) said, we are on schedule for early june or late may. my heart sank a little. then i called a couple of days ago to confirm the price (another sales guy from another dealership told me that i didn't have a firm price) the price was locked, and craig reassured me that we were on schedule and that i would have my car before june 30. my heart is breaking. i just can't stand the wait.

Clint, I'm a little concerned. If you don't have an order receipt from the dealer signed by the sales manager or higher which clearly states what model, options, etc. and the agreed price, then the other salesperson is right - you don't have a firm price. Please tell me that you have something signed in writing! We went through that with a couple people on the board last year, and a couple of 'em got screwed when it came down to signing the paperwork. And don't take Craig's word for it, if that's what you're relying on. If you don't have anything, call him back up and say that you'd feel more secure if you had something in writing. I know that I would if I were in your shoes.

As far as Mark and WebGuy, it's good to have some other Joisey guys here, especially since neither of you has that awful smurf blue color.

Hang in there, Guys,
Your cars will come and it is well worth the wait. Remember, some of us had to wait 6 1/2 months or longer for ours. And maybe you will benefit from having some of the early bugs worked out.

Point of curiosity, Mark, is that a male Eclectus under your name? In another life, I was an avian scientist. But I'm rusty on my parrot id.

I hope your cars arrive soon!

I was THIS close to ordering blue based on pictures in the brochure. I changd my mind when I saw the car in natural light at a NYC dealer. It wasn't dark enough for my tastes.

You're not that rusty, Deb. It is a male Eclectus parrot (Merlin). The females are red/blue (almost purple).

I'm hoping the new car will have the bugs worked out. Some of the earlier posts were a bit disturbing. But everyone seems to enjoy driving it.

Cheers,
Mark

Cool Order Wait Time

Good thumb rule: For a high volume market i.e. Southern Calif, expect from date of manufacture (your dealer can tell you what date that is) expect four weeks on water time West Coast, less for East Coast + 7-10 days VPC and transporter time. If demand exceeds production slots you can expect additional wait time until the steel actually gets pressed.

I'm trying not to get too excited until it actually arrives at the dealership!!!

Mark08859,

Excellent color choice! Obviously, you and Spyke are men of refinement and good taste. One thing though, Bordeaux really shows the dust so you better have your wash bucket handy.

Aw shucks, t'werent nuthin... :o

When I was first looking at cars I had every intention of buying another black one, just like every other car I've owned over the past 15 years, but I saw a Bordeaux C320(?) sitting in the lot and the color really caught my eye. Anyway, I can't imagine the red car showing dust any more than I'm used to!

Then again, I'm selling a black Jeep Cherokee when I get this car, and it hasn't been washed in months. Literally! Dust doesn't bother me... or it least it never used to. Already my wife's on my case about washing this one once in a while and I haven't even picked it up yet! The catch is I'm not arguing with her about it... :p

EU options

It's interesting that a number of things that are standard on the C here in Canada are optional in EU markets. For example, on the C 230K:
- illuminated vanity mirrors
- auto-dimming interior and driver's side rear view mirrors
- garage door opener on mirror
- rear airbags
- heated windshield washer nozzles and plumbing
- stereo/tape player (CD would be more "de rigeur" these days)
- Thermatic automatic air conditioning with rear cabin vents
- high capacity battery

And -- how could I forget -- for Canada:
- engine block heater (must buy cord from dealer though)

In Canada, dollar for Euro, the C 230K is WAY cheaper than it is in Germany!
