Start issues
2007 c280 4matic 132,796 miles.
this car has had a intermittent starting issue. I did have to fix the intake manifold issue that are know for the actuators to break. Once I did that I still have starting issues. Now my secondary air injection pump is bad. I feel if I change that it should fix it but I want to pick brains.
on cold starts it starts up. After its warm it could take a hour before it starts. I changed fuel pump relay, fuel pump is fine as well. I'm not sure if it's just secondary air pump, or if it's a check valve, or even hot water circulation pump I've had codes for but are stored and u can feel it working. Has new plugs, new coil packs, its had the recall done for the bad sprocket on timing chain completed. The crankshaft position sensor was replaced with new one but I occasionally see codes for it mostly stored. Vacuum leaks are all from what I can find.
any ideas or anything I'm lacking. Mass air flow is new also and once car does start it runs excellent no issues.

I had the "it starts fine when it's cold and won't when it's hot" issue on my 05 C320 at 110,000 miles.
I replaced the crankshaft position sensor with a Bosch OEM. The problem has not returned, I'm now at 195,000 miles.
If you are getting crankshaft codes again its possible your crankshaft position sensor has gone bad again. Was the your replacement OEM quality like Bosch or Mercedes Benz or aftermarket?
It's not that expensive for the Bosch and some of the cheap one are junk.
Lou.
