Hi guys,

I'm going to do my first service on my 4/2003 c220cdi sport coupe with 20000km and I want to know from you, if you know, which are the parts (engine/bodywork) replaced by mercedes who had problems and you experienced? If whe don't tell them to replace some things in warranty they wont change it!!!

I don't had any problems yet, except from suspension, is making some noise, and the desprogramed electronics like the panorama sunroof.

my service dept. has been very good at finding problem noises for me. my seats were squeaking over bumps, they found the plastic trim pieces that were touching and fixed it. there was a squaking in the front they found. i havent been able to tell them exact parts, they do a great job of decyphering my laymans terms to fix what needs to be.

 

my seats are squeaking over bumps too, it look likes that they are not tighted, especially in bad roads.

I am almost at 7000 miles now. I should be due soon.
I have had my speakers rattle. Took it to Keyes in Van Nuys and they said I should wait to get it fixed during the first time i get serviced.

Has anybody gotten these fixed? They said they were going to take the back apart... i wonder if it was worth it.. they may end up making it worst. Anybody?

mine werent loose, but plastic pieces were rubbing and making squeeking sounds. it got annoying especially with someone in the passenger seat. they applie felt to the areas that were touching to stop the noise and it worked great.

 

They are spring loaded as well so they will bounce in bumpy situations if you weigh enough to make them do it! I have a quick question for you since you live in a diferent country! What do you folks get for warranty? Like the time and coverage. Our is 4 years/50,000 miles for the actual warranty and until the 2005 models came out, we get our services covered free. Well not really free as they were kind of included in the price of the car!

 

In Europe we've got 2 years warranty, and I think, with no Km limit.

All services are not included, only warranty covered parts.

You are very lucky, 4 years!!! and the car is cheaper there too!!!

Mine, with 1 year exactly when I bougth it, I gave to mercedes in germany 25000€ but more 12000€ of taxes in Portugal (the 2nd country in europe with more expensive new cars) and If I bought it new it will cost me 55000€ at least!!!!!!!!!!

All my cars where buyed in germany, with less than 20000km (mine have 15000km), and my fathers 01 jaguar xkr in 02 when we bougth it have 8000km!!!

 

wow! i would have thought like at least 3yrs.

 

I have a rattling drivers door speaker in my new c230 year 05 2 weeks old. The dealer has tried twice to fix it to no avail. I have the upgraded HK surround sound pkg for an extra 1000.00 and they have been unable to fix the speaker rattling during base notes. It is the only rattle in the car. Today the Nav went out in the screen between the guages too.

 

hmm, thgat sucks. hey anyone know why they switched from Bose to H/K. they've been using Bose for a long time.
