So..make best deal- then whip out c-spot coupon??
Is the best approach to really negotiate hard with the dealer for the best deal, not only on the car I am purchasing, but on my car that I am trading, and then whip out the c-spot coupon? Does the dealer have to accept this coupon if they have already discounted the car (can they walk away from the deal at that point?). What have been the experience of others using the c-spot coupon, and when did they let the dealer know they had one.
P.S. Someone was kind enough to send me a c-spot coupon (it is on its way to me, I don't have it yet) - nice people in this world still!

The $1500 will come back to the dealer from MB credit if you finance part of the purchase. You can pay off that financed part after one month if you want with no penalty in order to avoid more than one finance charge. Produce the coupon after the purchase order and numbers have been finalized just to make sure the dealer gives you his absolute best price.

I am looking at an 05 C230 sedan
Dealer only quoting $1K off of MSRP. I will not buy unless we end up over $2K off MSRP. I plan on finalizing a deal right at month-end, when the dealers are looking to close sales for the month. Plus, I will have my c-spot coupon by then (hopefully).

It doese not matter to the dealer if you have the coupon or not, it is only added to your total down payment! Just remember that you must finance thru MBCC to get that extra $$$.
