TCU "fitment"

TCU "fitment"
Hello!
Recently my W203s transmission control module said goodnight during a drive. (atleast according to diagnostics).
Its now stuck in 2nd gear. I opened up and dug out the panel, cant see any water/corrosion. Thinking I´m gonna buy a new one from a wreck and test it.
Therefore my question is, does a TCU from a R170 SLK 200 Kompressor fit my W203 200 Kompressor without flashing it and then recoding it? It has the same part number (A 027 545 01 32)

Pluto, while occasionally helpful, is wrong in this case.
Mostly he's known for telling people to post their VIN.
If it's the same part number it will work.
But if your car is stuck in 2nd gear it could be a lot of things,
and if there's no oil in the TCU it's more likely the shifter electronics.
You can read that error with a standard OBD reader or Torque.
It will give an error about shifter like this ....
Current Fault Log
------------------
P0705: Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input)
Mercedes DAS sees it as this.... N15/5 or "ESM" is the module itself. (Local guy has the DAS or STAR Diag as it's known and ran a report for me)
Basically the car can't tell what gear it's in, since the electronics that tell the computer what ghear you are in,
that are in the shifter fail. I tried various fixes but nothing worked. I finally got one at the picknpull for $30.
And more recently snagged a spare on 1/2 price day for less than $20. Usually about $200 on ebay.
New is like $700.
Be sure to read the codes before anything else.

BTW- EPC is the parts catalog used by the dealers, or by subscription for $75.
Not available without a subscription. Dealer can tell you what you need to know, but
read codes 1st.
