Are pedals adjustable?
Hi all. I know manufacturers tend to keep the pedals apart to avoid ending up on 20/20 al-la the old Audi 5000, but my question is are either the gas or the brake pedal adjustable from side to side? I'd like them a little closer for better reach when trying to bring the revs up under braking.

For matching engine speed to transmission shaft speed, so as not to make the downshift too abrupt or fry one's clutch when choosing the gear for powering out of the curve after you've finished braking for it.

One possibility
Strictly speaking, no, they aren't adjustable. But, what you could do is get a pedal set that will allow for easier transitioning between brake and gas.
For example, I have a Brabus pedal set on my ccoupe - they all attach via screws, so you could position the brake cover as far over to the right as possible. That might help.
You could also try other brands of pedal covers to see if any are large enough to give you the setup that you want.

Yeah, autozone, pep boys, advanced auto etc have many different kinda of pedal kits that screw on. Just place them as close as possible to each other as you can. Hope it helps, and post pics if you can.
i just heard a story about ford taurus? that talked about the gas and brake pedals being too close... causing some drivers some problems... http://www.auto.com/industry/iwirg23_20020423.htm

With most formula fords, you have to bring your knees together to be able to hit the brake WITHOUT hitting the gas, they're so close together. After a few hours at Skip Barber, I had bruises from where my legs/knees would hit each other, or the steering column from doing this so often!
Thanks to all for the new pedal cover suggestion, but I love the C7 pedals. would hate to lose `em. Problem I'm having is not when I'm wearing sneakers (they widen out at the front), but dress shoes when driving to/from work.

Yeah, the pedals are far apart for any heel-toe action unless you have swivel joints on your knees! It can be done but it takes a little more effort than I would like to use. Post any pedal mods you come up with if you can.
Another thing that contributes to this problem is that the gas pedal is MUCH closer to the floor than the brake is. Even if the pedals were closer together, I think it'd still be harder to heel-toe in the 230K than it would in a "normal" car.
