2006 c320 Electric Boogaloo
Alright, so, 2006 C320, 175k miles.
Key won't turn in cylinder, but after pressing the unlock button with the key in the cylinder a couple of times, steering wheel will unlock and key will turn.
Yet, if not started within 1 to 3 seconds after wheel unlock, will fail to start and when it does start, scanner wont communicate with engine ECM and dash stops working completely. Funny enough, even when scanner wont communicate with ECM, engine will run normally, but no turn signal or anything else works.
It does have some other issues, tensioner is shot. I think trans is making some noise. Misfires here and there. Granted, i was sitting for upwards of 6 years. New battery was installed, fob also has new battery.
My initial reaction was some key to ignition module handshake problems, but would that allow the engine to run with the dash dead and a scanner not communicating with ECM?
