Lost keys - used ignition module?
Lost my keys to my 2004 C240. Was told I have to remove my ignition module and bring it in, to get keys made for $250.
My question is; if I purchase a used ignition module and a set of matching keys, can I just install the ignition module and the vehicle will work? Or does the module have to be integrated with the ECU?

Don't quote me on this, but I think the 2 things have to be mated to each other. The VIN is definitely hardcoded into the ECU.
Probably easier and way less hassle to just get the keys made at the dealership to be honest.
