Angry wrong part number for push-button on stearing...

I just got the call from my service manager, said "The part are wrong color again. Sorry."

I ordered the push button for the stearing becasue of cracks on the button. I went to the dealer two times for replacing buttons already but couldn't get it. It was "WRONG COLOR". And this is my third time, and they(=MBUSA or maybe MB in Germany) mess it up again. Somthing's going on there. I don't blame it on my dealer.....

Do you have this problem before? I am just wondering it is just me or others too.

Thanks in advance,

is part of the part number the color code? when i was ordering my mats, the last 4 digits were the color code. for example, 9B57 = anthracite. 8g76=silver/gray. i don't know of any others...

I have the exact same problem. A little crack in the button. Still have not been able to get the correct color from Germany. Eventually it will be solved. It is just taking longer than expected.

They said whatever the number is right on the box, but the actual item in the box is wrong color.

I hope it is solved quickly, it takes a lot longer than I expected.

This one is just as bizarre... My Glove Box lid didn't fit right, leaving more gap at the top left than top right. They got in a new glove box lid (The part is not adjustable in its mount) but there were two staple holes in the exposed face of the lid. Looked like the parts depot simply stapled the paperwork for the part right in the middle of the part for all to see.

Compounding this, the dealer installed the stapled part anyway, hoping I wouldn't notice. WRONG. Sticks out like a sore thumb. They're ordering another part.

They must have alot of ex-Oldsmobile people working in their parts depot.

Exact problem too. Brought it in, got an E320 loaner (which didn't excite me after driving it), had them look at the squeky clutch pedal, the seatbelt tensioner and the cracked button. Well, the clutch squeks again, the seatbelt is better but still holds on awfully tight IMO, and they weren't able to fix the button because the wrong one came in. Not thrilled with that performance, although they got me in fast and no hassle on the loaner, but I expected better.
