CL203 M111.981 bolt ons

Hey guys I’m new to the forum so hopefully I’m posting in the right place. I am looking for some bolt ons to get a little more power out of my M111.981 (damn mercedes engine codes are weird haha). My c230 is a 2002 sport coupe with the M111.981 engine according to the VIN decoder. I should note its a 6-speed manual if that matters.

I’m a BMW guy who has a 335i I’ve tuned up to be my rocket, however jumping into a car with 1/3 the hp is starting to wear on me. I’m still hoping to get great mileage on gas but maybe squeezing another 30ish hp out of this thing? What are some bolt ons I can look at? Or perhaps an ECU flash?

Hey man, I just picked up a cl203 6 Speed as well and after much research I havent found much as far as engine bolt on's. In the world of threads there is really only the kleeman pulley kit which is hard to find. Gets you estimated 30HP from what i have read. I put on a Remus Exhaust and a simple K&N filter and if you havent done the K&N, you do notice some throttle response increase. Best money to spend is on springs, and good tires, changes the car. Good Luck, let me know if you come across anything

Not much you can do with those.

You may try some nice spark plugs(good for 5-10hp) and a tune which will add 20hp/tq.

You could also delete secondary cats and put in high flow cats for the mains.

I bet with all of that you could get 30-40 hp/tq.

I couldn't find any pulley upgrades for those.

Back when I had one of those (exactly the spec you have), an oversized pulley could be fitted (30% bigger with a matching belt), and that was about it. There was a consensus that the stock air box was adequate to the task, meaning no cold air intake tweaks were needed. Not sure you can easily find a bigger pulley for this model, now that it is pretty old, but if you know someone in the trade, it's possible to manufacture one based on the stock pulley.

No spark plugs upgrade will give you any power gain, BS! And the "tune", what exactly are you talking about? This is a supercharger - no tune can force it to spin faster. BS again.
