Nice. I'm assuming the blinkers are LED? Also, how hard is it to get the folding mirrors installed?

 

yes the blinkers are LED, they are the W211 blinkers. the switch was very easy once i figured out where that damn torx head was. as far as installing the mirror consoles, its just a matter of pulling the door panels. i had shop install the mirror consoles. then today I had a broken sill which was replaced under warranty so i took my car in for service ro program the convienence feature. they couldnt figure out the progrmaming and when penske called van nuys, they were told for me to come there to have it done. rivalry i guess. i dunno.

 

Can I get the part #s for the blinkers? I cracked my stock driver-side one when I accidently hit my dad's car with it in the driveway (long story...), and I figured I might as well get it replaced with the W211s. I tried searching but I can't seem to find the thread, I remember seeing it here a long time ago...

 

i tried to search and didnt come up with anything. when i bought them at the dealer they looked up the part. it the mirror indicator from the W211. my brother is taking some girl out right now to get coffee in my car. when he gets back ill check it out for you.

 

How much are those mirrors. Those look cool!

What I do imagine from those whom have a somewhat "valid" point that would not spend the money say on the electric folding frames; is probably because the "expectation" would be a premium and worldy known best car around the globe still has "features" that didn't come with the car; and those "features" (as it is a premium brand) are also at a "permium" price! .

I've seen people get outraged when you are charged an extra 2 thousand bucks (and more if there is a color chosen that is NOT in the color catalog list, though is doable, Mercedes will do anything a customer wants so as long as they (customers) pay the price) to get a particular "color" that though offered on the brochures; it is not the "standard" say silver, black, white, etc colors (then of course statistics say "Silver" is the hottest selling color worlwide... a lot of debate going on that... though the color is nice and for some (many) people they would not get anything but the "Mercedes Silver" color... also many just get the silver "because" that is one of the options in color that doesn't cost anything extra )

my color was in the brochure but required a SPC charge for whatever reason. id like to have had more option available to me, but i can always retrofit the items on!

true Metallic paint charge, $655 or something like that, atleast in 2003. i had to pay metallic paint charge ontop of SPC of $1150. kinda crappy to pay both fees, but id rather have metallic paint personally.

I know what you mean!!... I am sooo used to always have to pay thousands to get the color that I want (normally a color that IS available, or advertised with the brochures... just that when I select it; that is when the "oohhhh, forgot to tell you that is an "extra charge", blah, blah.. lol)

LOL. I just think its too much money just to fold some mirrors. Ima gadget and luxury freak so dont get me wrong I wouldnt mind getting it. Any kind of gizmo in the interior I LOVE! I just wish we can get COMAND in DVD based! Id love to get keyless go or voice control system installed in my car. If I get an E-Class Im going to get every single option gadget I Can. :p Even though its going to be working HALF the time thanks to MBs standards.

LOL... I know what you mean Mr. Noble C320 when talking about M B standards... lol.. BUT... oh yeah, there is a "flip" side.. if what you see from M Benz being a "premium" brand.. imagine what can you get from "non-premium" brands... ooooouch!!... lol... remmeber... as Mr. CitronC230K_03 and many others before him have indicated, the more gadgets, toys, etc on a car, the more chances for things to break...
