So, I'm driving along tonite and I hear a beep...My screen says: ADD 1.0 QT OIL.
WTF??? I just got my car back from service A two days ago. grrrr. I'm heading home and when i get out i smell burning oil. WTF?? i open the hood and lookie:








I'm still waiting for the tow truck... Just a few days ago i posted THIS:

i still like my car ('02 C230)...despite:

replace pano roof
replace dash (defective)
replace instrument cluster (defective)
replace overhead console 2x (defective)
replace mass air sensor to correct engine roughness
squeeky pano roof too many times to count (see item 1, fixed)
squeeky seats
a/c issues
various bits coming loose of their own accord (fogs, door checkstrap, wheel wells, parking brake)


i may have to reconsider that statement.

on a side note, my service a and service b have gone fine. i did get a light on about 6 months after buying my car which said add 1 qt of oil. i went to the dealer and they put it in for me. never had a problem since.

dunno yet, they came out and towed my car to the dealer at midnite last nite. won't hear anything till monday i'm sure. I have no idea. The oil cap was on tight and was not crooked... I'm a bit worried tho, never had this happen and I just had service shouldn't need oil and it sure as he|| shouldn't be all over the engine compartment.

wonder what the lemon law criteria are in texas. I'd just take another car.

The lemon law in texas is (i believe)......same problem 3 times in 1 year its a lemon

Sounds like a problem I had in my coupe. The hose supplying oil to my supercharger had a tiny leak of some kind, since I noticed oil deposits, but no obvious source. Dealer cleaned and replaced the faulty hose at my next service.

Not sure about Texas, but lemon laws in general benefit repeat problems the dealer can't fix. You are more likely to win one with 3 broken AC compressors than 15 different flaws. Plus, it can take quite awhile for the legal process to work through the lemon law, and all that time you are stuck with your "lemon."

and lest i forget... the drive by wire joy of my accelerator pedal. also defective. sensors failed. when pressed to the floor, i acheived the fearsome speed of 20 mph. made for a long drive to the dealer....

like i said, i can't fault the dealer, they really try. But i don't even want to guess what parts alone have cost. i mean how much is a new pano roof?

should hear from them tomorrow. will update.

thats exactly why i dumped my slk and got an infiniti instead...will never buy a mb again until i see some significant improvement..good luck

so, here it is... Friday and I still don't have my car back. This means my car has been in the shop for about 10 days out of the last 12. Is it even worth all this?

as far as the oil goes, they think it was just a loose cap. funny, the service adviser and me both thought the cap was straight and tight... hmmm... They are trying to fix a persistant buzzing noise from the pano roof (on the old one and the NEW one!) and a persisitant A/C issue now. jesus save me.

those suzuki aerio's are starting to look gooooood. ummm, maybe not.

Bring your car up here, I know a bridge in Newark you can leave it under ---unlocked. It will never cause you a problem again.

lol, make sure you leave the key in it. i think it may be hard to hotwire.
