Installing IPOD
Installing IPOD
Okay, so i read a lot of posts about this topic such as using the aux if you have command (which I don't), a cassette adapter ( which I don't have) and using iTrip which I hear is not to good. Anyone been able to connect it on an 05 C230k and have good sound quality (post pictures plz). Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I am using my iPod with iTrip on the Belkin Car Dock. The quality is not too bad (Sounds like a radio station). I have mine set to 100.9 FM. Though I wish the quality would be better. I think without major surgery thats about all I can do.

I use the iRock fm modulator...it works pretty well, sounds as good as any other radio station...and has a decent range (20-25 ft) so I can use it at home to pipe my computer output into either of the stereos or home ent. system.
Consumer Reports said it was better than the Belkin or iTrip...but not quite as good as the Phillips (which I cant find anywhere)
Radio Shack has 'em...$30

This one integrates in a similar way to the bmwipod but it is not available for the latest MB models yet..

My wife took her Mini in last Saturday to have the new BMS/Mini iPod connector installed. I'm disappointed.
It was advertised by Steve Jobs himself as affording the capability of controlling the iPod via the steering wheel controls. Not totally true. The volume is the only thing that is controlled. The "connector" in the glove box is nothing more than a simple 1/8 inch female jack, into which you plug in your iPod through the headphone jack...a 1/8 to 1/8 cord.
The way it was talked up, one would think it would have a genuine dock-type connector, chargeable, completely controllable.

Search the forum, there's instructions for making an AUX input jack from your cassette player. I think I have a link on my website at www.Buellwinkle.com

i got one of these and it's great... you can charge your IPOD while you use it as well. so it's a 2-in-1... retail $75, pretty much what I had to pay for
