air recirculation
air recrculation button, it does work to closs all the windows. You have to hold it for 2 or 3 seconds, and it will close everything you have open. Then when you want it open again hold for another 2 seconds and the windows open to their present location.
I cant remember if this was discussed earlier but thought it was worth pointing out.

but does it...
...also shut the panorama roof? I had read somewhere that it also closes the sedan sunroof, but not the Coupé panorama roof.

it does NOT close the roof. Apperently MB decided not to put the autoclose sensor on the car that prevents it from closing on something. If you have ever seen National lampoon's Vegas Vacation, the part where audrey gets caught in the soonroof, you will know what i mean. Maybe that will be on a 2003?

Well i put a rolled up towel in the way of the windows and it did nothing. It pinched them and kept trying to close, so no the windows do not have them

In reference to the self closing "panorama roof" discussion. I wish MB would have put that feature with the recirculation button and also with the actual panorama closing button. It's a pain to hold it until it closes. And the "Vegas Vacation" incident oh well that won't happen if MB would follow using Audi/VW's self closing sunroofs with pinch protection.

The sedans have one-touch close on the sunroof, and holding the recirc button for a couple seconds will close the roof in addition to the windows. I've thought that the coupe doesn't have one-touch close due to the shades. Only a guess, but maybe they couldn't decide whether the shades should also close during one-touch operation. Not sure though since you guys do have one-touch open.
