Noise

I am not really sure how to explain, but I will do my best. I am getting a sound from the car that sounds like a wheel that is out of balance, but I have had everything balanced twice in the last 45 days. What else could it be that could be making the same noise? Could it be bearing or brake related or? I know this is not very descriptive, but if you guys think of something I would appreciate it. Thanks....

I would take it to the dealer for a thorough check up if I were you. If it is a possible warped rotor... I wouldn't feel comfortable.

Hope it gets fixed.

If it is a warped rotor is there something better to replace it with for better braking performance while keeping my stock 16" wheels? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I know the 13.6" AMG rotors are too big for 16" wheels mainly because the Brembo (AMG) calipers are so big that go on the rotor. There are aftermarket rotors out there, but I stopped looking after I upgraded to 17" wheels and got the AMG package.
Sorry for the no help, but there is hope out there, and I'm sure someone knows.

Honk if you see me

Could be lots of things it could be, a bad strut cartridge, bad wheel bearings, worn ball joints, parts lose in the suspension. Not only can the rotors be warped but the caliper pistons can be sticking, the caliper slide maybe sticking. Maybe if you describe the noise better it would help.Jack up each wheel and grab the top/bottom of the tire and try and move it back and forth, there should not be any freeplay and also see if it rotor rubs as you spin the tire. Look for any fluid leaking from the strut cartridge.

Thanks for all the info Buellwinkle. Hopefully it is not some of the things that you listed. I will try the jack method this weekend to see if there is any play in the wheel. I know I was not very descriptive but it is hard to put the sound into words. I appreciate all of your input.

I was looking at the back of my car at lunch today and I totally agree. I think it is time to move forward on the tails.

2002-2004 C-coupe tails never did it for me. they made them in 05 the way they should have been from the beginning.
