Electric trunk latch
I am working on an 02 c320 wagon. Having electrical problems with the electric solenoid that releases the hatch. I am not getting but 2 volts to the solenoid when i activate the unlock from the key fob. Does anyone know if the solenoid works on 12 volts or is it supposed to be roughly 2 volts. Have replaced all fuses and relays that i can find associated with the door lock circuit.

I'm pretty sure every relay in the car (like pretty much all other passenger cars) uses 12V to energize. It will also say on the side of the relay itself.
Not sure if this has anything to do with your repair but you may want to take a look.

Thanks for the reply. Yes the relays that control the doors are working. I just dont know if the same relays also control the hatch. If so, the power is leaving the relay but not arriving at the unlatch solenoid. A close inspection shows the wiring to the hatch is in perfect shape. Btw, i had seen that video yo change the busted mucro switch that started this whole problem. But now, like i said there is 0 volts to the micro switch where before at least i had approx 2 volts.
