Surely the C 230 K engine already has forged connecting rods. My bone stock 1966 Peugeot 404 Coupé Injection engine (96 HP) has forged rods AND a forged crankshaft, and so did the even less powerful carbureted versions.

No, you would have to get the matching transmission for that motor (the stock tranny won't work), a light weight drive shaft and a heavy duty rear end like a Ford 9" with detroit lockers. Have to put the HP to ground some how! With the extra weight you won't need lowering springs in the front. Don't forget the racing slicks.

Look at the bright side, in a drag race, you will pass C32s like they were standing still.

That is the plan, put it in the c-coupe with a 6 speed sounds like fun anyway. I'm more worried about the cluch than the trans or diff. We will need to beef up the cluch for sure. I will keep you posted on the project there is alot to get done in a short time. It will also depend on there shop and how busy it is, this is not a high priority job for them I don't mean that in a negative way.

I think it would be safe to say that I had about 300+ hp @ the crank.....as far as what the internals will hold....on just a full engine build and no nitrous....probably a good 300-325 rwhp.....I think the tranny would be a questions after that....and guys...i have seen a few ppl post about running 100 shots on these cars....thats not too safe remember....we already have FI on them....

I've seen a turbo + blower setup. I'd like to see how it looks. Can someone post pics or a link? It doesn't have to be on an MB.

Question:

If these MOPAR engines are so awesome and produce such high horsepower at such a LOW cost. Why don't they put these engines in High Performance cars like the Viper, Corvette, or Mustang?? Why would they need to develope all the 'higher tech' engines that produce less torque and HP than existing engines?
If Chrysler produces these MOPAR engines, why don't they just put one of these "528 HEMI-610 horsepower V8 crate motor" for their NEW viper?? I'm sure a V8 is lighter than the V10 in the Viper too. NO production car available can compete with that kind of power.
Doesn't make much sense to me.

You can get the Viper crate V10 motor. It's just personal choice. The reason they do more V8's is because they fit into existing cars and the V10 may not. Also there's a lot of aftermarket performance goodies for these well established V8s. The Corvette small block motor is a popular crate engine that's way cheaper than the Hemi. Mustang and Corvette people usually just put a blower on their factory motors as cheap HP. My favorite Hemi is the Chrysler Hemi PT Cruiser. Check out www.hemicruiser.com
