ESP not-available
Hi,
I'm new here and trying to help my father in law.
He has a MB C200 Compressor -03
After a friend of his change the starter he have had the problem that when the car starts up in the info panel there is the information that "ESP is not available"
There seams to be no problem with the car it runs perfectly fine, the esp can be turned on and off with the button on the dash and the light turns on and off but the text is still there.
I have today connected my ELM327 WIFI to my Iphone and checked with "OBD Fusion" and i can see no error code but i'm note sure if i will be able to see any of the ESP errors with this reader or program?
We have checked battery and it measures fine on a stable 12.3V we have tried to "reset" the calibration of the steering angle sensor by turning steeringweel all way to left and right a number of times and run with and without esp but no change.
My father in law said that the guy that helped him had losen som thing related to te steering when changing the starter and after that this have occurred.
Is there something that might have been connected incorrectly or not at all?
Is there a way to read esp fault codes with the ELM327 if so how? with what app for IOS or -Android?
What more can we try or is it only to leave it to the mechanic?
Also he asked he have changed the braking bads to a pair that don't have tear down sensor or what it is called can that be a reason for this error to occurs?

Hello Andez, try to turn steering wheel all the way to the left, then all the way to the righ and back to the center and usually it will fix you problem if there is nothing serious to fix. You can search in youtube(How to fix ESP faulty on mercedes w203) too se what I'm talking about if you can't understand me (English not main language).
