2004 C240 Wagon - Radio No sound (Amplifier location?)
Just had my radio sound go out - the radio powers up and you just hear clicking sounds through the speakers and it doesnt recognize the CD at all.
I read several posts on W203 Sedans with this issue and it sound like the Radio Amplifier is located in the sedan trunk and fairly easy to replace if you can find a used unit on ebay.
Can anyone help me locate the radio amplifier in a w203 4matic WAGON? I checked the rear side compartments and dont think I saw it but i honestly dont know what the partn looks like.
I have attached photos of a Harman Becker amp that I removed from a 2005 sports sedan. Mercedes may have been using BOSE equipment in 2004, and your amp may look different.

You'll have to pull the trunk floor and the side panel immediately ahead of the one you already pulled. I'll try to find the instruxtions somewhere on my computer.
The amplifier comes out with the whole plastic woofer box that says Bose on the side. Once out then you can separate the amp from the sub.
On the wagons there's a sefect where the rear window seal leak and drips water on the amplifier. That's how mine failed and a couple more I found in the JY. Rust in the amplifier. See that bundle of wires on top of the amplifier. Unplug that and you'll find corrosion. https://imgur.com/a/YQNw9
