Need some number decoding please not vin#

Good afternoon
Vitals: 2003 C230K W203 Kompressor
VIN: WDBRN40J83A492007
Engine#: 27194830110424 [aluminum block/cyl head]
Trans#: 72269504239436

Back story....
My daughter unknowingly drove her '03 C230K W203 into a flooded parking lot which resulted in ...you guessed it, big time damage.
Found a used engine with a little more than 1/2 the mileage of hers with a warranty so I snapped it up. the engine that was shipped to the shop was not what it was supposed to be. Just my luck the seller is playing dumb and denying that I bought it from them. I have since purchased another engine from another source and the shop is completing the job now. I may end up stuck with the wrong engine so I am looking for help in identifying/verifying what it actually is.

Wrong engine vitals:
Engine#: 11198332219672
Cast iron block/aluminum cyl head
No fuel injection ports in cyl head
Oil filter housing integrated with timing cover

I do not know the vin for the donor car since it is not the engine that was advertised.
The issue that I am having is that my local dealer was happy to run the number through the Xentry Portal but said that he may not find much because it did not have the US market code in the number.
All his system could tell us was:[ D111983, M111 E23 EVO ML ] a 1997-2000 2.3L. He could not get a data card on it. He guessed that it may be a European market SLK?

Can any of you out their figure out the puzzle for me?I don't want to sell it to someone without knowing what it actually is?

1st pic is wrong engine
2nd pic was taken about an hour after the car didn't make it far from the flooded part of parking lot. It was early morning and still dark (winter time) so she waited for the sun to come up.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Vince

Well if it's 97-2000 then, yeah, same displacement, but likely a lot of differences, since in 2001
they went to smaller Supercharger, the M45 vs. the older M62 (or is M63?).
Additionally the SLK went on using the 2.3L until 2004,
while the C Coupe went to the 1.8L.
So yeah, you have a photo of a 2.3L M111 and the car shown uses a M271 1.8L.

So whats the question?
Here's a copy of your datacard.

So you purchases a M111.983 engine.
See here on Ebay...
used on 2001-2004 SLK.

Thanks for the reply C230SC
My question was to get the data card info and find out exactly what it is and what market the engine was originally intended for since the "32" portion of the serial number is not a US market designation according to the local MB dealer. It could be a 2.0l, 2.2l or 2.3l from what I have seen was offered under the M111 series designation.
I already purchased the correct engine/long block for the car and should have it back on the road in a few days.
The 1.8L in my car uses the Eaton M65 unit

I just want to know what the hell the engine is and where it came from. I don't want to mislead anyone about what it is when I sell it. I doubt I will get my money back out of it since I had paid for the correct 1.8L M271 series and the M111 2.3L sell for about half that.

In my younger days I would just keep the dang engine and put it into a Datsun 510 or Toyota corolla, Mega squirt to handle the engine management and go have some fun. I sold my shop a few years ago and retired from the auto repair biz. 32+yrs was enough and I retired. With one in college and the other soon to graduate HS, both playing lacrosse means that I just don't have the time anymore for the toys. I guess I should have built that Manville in the back yard. The shop doing the engine job for me is owned by my best friend and mentor. We couldn't find out anything concrete about the engine sent to us so I went to the guys at the MB dealer up the road for help. I was hoping that someone from Europe or other markets could run that M111 number through their system and get the data card.

Where are located? Update your profile please.
1.8L w M65 ?
That must be custom since they used M45 as far as I know.
I need an engine swap myself sometime in the near future.

From what I have been able to find online MB switched from the M45 to M65 in 02 or 03.
Not that I understand how it helps, I updated my location.
